Scholarship Information
Eligibility:
1. Applicant is a Greek-American Student either in high school or at the university as an undergraduate (full-time) or graduate (full-time);
2. Applicant is at an accredited college/university;
3. Applicant or applicant’s parents are active (paid) subscribers of the Hellenic News of America.
Application Due Date: April 1, 2020
Rules Submit a 700-900 word essay on the any of the topics below:
a. The significance of mastering the Greek Language in today’s world.
b. Why should we preserve and perpetuate the Greek Language and culture.
c. The future of Hellenic Paideia in a Democratic society (the basics of all paideia / education and culture).
Please specify which scholarship you are applying for when you submit your essay:
- Three scholarships of $1,500 in honor of our donors
- Three scholarships of $1,500 each in Memory of Theodore Spyropoulos for a semester in Greece.
- Three scholarships of $1,500 each in Memory of Dr. Theodore Lyras for a semester in Greece.
- Three scholarships of $1,500 each in Memory of Christos Tomaras for a semester in Greece.
- One scholarship of $1,500 in Honor of HANC for a semester in Greece.
- One scholarship of $1,500 in Honor of PanLaconian Federation of USA and Canada for a semester in Greece.
- One scholarship of $1,500 in Honor of New England Hellenic Societies Federation for a semester in Greece.
- One scholarship of $1,500 in Honor of PanMacedonian Association of America for a semester at Aristotle and Macedonia Universities in Thessaloniki, Greece.
- One scholarship of $1,500 in Honor of Dodecanesian Societies Federation for a semester at the University of Aegean, Rhodes, Greece.
- Ten scholarships of $750 for a three week summer class with a study tour around Greece in honor or memory of Greek Studies supporters.
- Ten scholarships of $500 for a three week summer class in honor or memory of Greek Studies supporters.
